Soft felted

Felting…it’s a kind of magic is the way we explain. Wool  is composed by hairs and only by adding water, soap and a lot of movements we create from these hairs a felt sheet. Variations in the amount s of wool used results in many possibilities, from transparent and delicate to rough and tough.

Dying

We dye our own wool with vegetable dyes only. Many of these materials are found in the direct surroundings of Metis. This Transylvaninan village lies in the middle of forests and hills, in a lush abundance of plants, trees and bushes. We use mint, st johns wort, beechnuts and bark from various trees. It offers a natural palette of the most stunning living colours. The dying itself takes place outside on a wood log fire in large iron kettles.
